What does it mean to be mobile-friendly? Basically, it means that people can easily view and navigate your website from mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. You may have noticed that some sites are definitely NOT mobile friendly and you find yourself pushing the page around, trying to see all the text and trying to scroll past huge pictures that don’t re-size. It’s frustrating.

Google knows this and wants to help the users so they don’t have to deal with these sites. So, starting very soon, the Google will punish websites that are not mobile friendly. This means that if your site is not mobile friendly, it will rank lower in the Google search engine. In fact, it may not show up at all if the search is done from a mobile device.

Although this is good for the consumer, it’s a wake-up call to everyone with a website. Luckily, most WordPress sites can be easily adjusted to become mobile-friendly, if they aren’t already.
